Among them were representatives from Visa, Mastercard, <span data-descr=\"international interbank messaging system\" class=\"old_tooltip\">SWIFT<\/span>, PayPal, Google, and other companies and institutions.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>&#8220;The Engagement Forum comprises leaders from industry, civil society and academia to gather strategic materials on policy considerations and functional requirements relating to CBDC,&#8221; the statement said.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>The Technology Forum, focused on the technological aspects of creating and operating CBDC, held its first meeting in September.<\/p>\n<p>In April 2021, the Bank of England and Her Majesty&#8217;s Treasury announced the creation of these two forums together with a statement on <a href=\"https:\/\/u1f987.com\/en\/news\/uk-authorities-set-up-a-joint-working-group-to-study-cbdc\">the formation of a CBDC working group<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Earlier in November 2020, authorities <a href=\"https:\/\/u1f987.com\/en\/news\/uk-authorities-set-up-a-joint-working-group-to-study-cbdc\">announced research<\/a> into the national digital currency.<\/p>\n<p>In September 2021, the Lords&#8217; Economic Affairs Committee <a href=\"https:\/\/u1f987.com\/en\/news\/britain-begins-study-of-cbdcs\">began examining CBDC<\/a>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Bank of England and Her Majesty&#8217;s Treasury announced participants in forums to study the technological and other aspects of central bank digital currency (CBDC).
