{"id":49854,"date":"2021-09-21T14:18:27","date_gmt":"2021-09-21T11:18:27","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/?p=49854"},"modified":"2025-09-02T14:45:38","modified_gmt":"2025-09-02T11:45:38","slug":"irs-to-fund-trm-labs-cross-chain-transaction-tracking-tool","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/u1f987.com\/en\/irs-to-fund-trm-labs-cross-chain-transaction-tracking-tool\/","title":{"rendered":"IRS to fund TRM Labs cross-chain transaction-tracking tool"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The U.S. Internal Revenue Service (IRS) <a href=\"https:\/\/sam.gov\/opp\/316542901ac04323b57d0257801ff427\/view\">will fund<\/a> the development of a cross-chain transaction-tracking tool by TRM Labs.<\/p>\n<p>Going forward, the agency intends to use the information on inter-network cryptocurrency transfers in criminal investigations.<\/p>\n<p>In a statement, the IRS highlighted the uniqueness of the development called TRM Forensics:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>\u201cWe are requesting this solution because of its ability to track transactions across multiple networks and the unique methods of visualising cryptocurrencies on different blockchains.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>At the same time, grants may be awarded to other companies developing similar products.<\/p>\n<p>Earlier in June, the IRS sought <a href=\"https:\/\/u1f987.com\/en\/news\/irs-seeks-funding-increase-to-strengthen-crypto-oversight\">additional funding of $32 million<\/a>.
