Court turns to bailiffs for enforcement"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Tagansky Court of Moscow has referred to the Federal Bailiff Service for compulsory collection of fines imposed on Twitter in 2021 for violations of Russian law. The court&#8217;s press service told <a href=\\\"https:\/\/www.interfax.ru\/russia\/791738\\\">\u00ab\u0418\u043d\u0442\u0435\u0440\u0444\u0430\u043a\u0441\u0443\u00bb<\/a>.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>&#8220;Due to the expiration of the deadline for voluntary compliance with the court&#8217;s decision, materials for enforcement of the decision to collect fines imposed on Twitter have been sent to the bailiffs today,&#8221; said press secretary Zulfia Gurinchuk.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>According to those decisions already in force, the social network must pay 8.9 million rubles. Other rulings have either been appealed or have not yet come into force; for some, Twitter still has time to settle voluntarily.<\/p>\n<p>Deputy head of Roskomnadzor Vadim Subbotin also told <a href=\\\"https:\/\/tass.ru\/obschestvo\/12422333\\\">\u0422\u0410\u0421\u0421<\/a> that the agency may apply turnover fines to Google, Facebook and Twitter for not removing prohibited content. The amount of such fines depends on the company&#8217;s revenue.<\/p>\n<p>R \u0440\u0430\u0441\u0441\u043a\u0430\u0437, Roskomnadzor \u0441 10 \u043c\u0430\u0440\u0442\u0430 <a href=\"https:\/\/u1f987.com\/en\/news\/roskomnadzor-began-throttling-twitter-in-russia-and-threatened-to-block-it\">began <\/a>slowing Twitter&#8217;s operations<\/a> in Russia on 10 March due to the platform&#8217;s refusal to delete content that the agency deemed unlawful.
