Trend Micro said that its products blocked 40.9 billion email threats, malware files, and URLs in the first six months of 2021, nearly doubling the figures for the same period last year.<\/p>\n
The main threat remains ransomware. The banking sector was particularly affected \u2014 the number of attacks using such malware grew by 1,318%.<\/p>\n
According to the company, Russia accounted for almost 10% of all active ransomware programs in the European region.<\/p>\n
Cryptominers have become the most frequently detected malware, the experts added.<\/p>\n
