(@arbitrum) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/arbitrum\/status\/1437855924249575424?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">September 14, 2021<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p><script async=\"\" src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p>The developers said that user funds were safe. Transactions accepted during the outage were assigned a new timestamp of 17:59 MSK, when the Sequencer came back online, but their order was preserved.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>\u201cThe Sequencer cannot steal funds or forge transactions, because every transaction it processes bears the user\u2019s digital signature, which is verified by the Arbitrum chain. User funds were not at risk,\u201d the developers emphasised.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>The primary cause of the outage was a Sequencer bug that received a very large burst of transactions in a short time.
