He said so during an <span data-descr=\"ask me anything, \u0441\u043f\u0440\u043e\u0441\u0438 \u043c\u0435\u043d\u044f \u043e \u0447\u0435\u043c \u0443\u0433\u043e\u0434\u043d\u043e\" class=\"old_tooltip\">AMA<\/span> session on Twitter.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">The whole \u00ab8 cofounders\u00bb thing (and choosing them so quickly and nondiscriminately).<\/p>\n<p>\u2014 vitalik.eth (@VitalikButerin) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/VitalikButerin\/status\/1433245736641040384?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">September 2, 2021<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p> <script async=\"\" src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p>One user asked Buterin what he regrets most in the context of working on Ethereum.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>\u201cThis whole &#8216;eight cofounders&#8217; story (chosen quickly and indiscriminately),\u201d he replied.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>These &#8220;co-founders&#8221; are poker coach Mihai Alisie, Canadian entrepreneur Anthony Di Iorio, programmer Jeffrey Wilcke, one of the creators of the Colored Coins concept Amir Chetrit, ConsenSys founder Joseph Lubin, Cardano founder Charles Hoskinson, and Gavin Wood, the architect of Polkadot.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>\u201cCoordinating people in small groups turned out to be harder than I expected. You can&#8217;t just get everyone to sit in a circle, be kind to one another, and get along, especially when incentives are clearly in conflict,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>The Ethereum cofounder also said making the <span data-descr=\"Ethereum Virtual Machine\" class=\"old_tooltip\">EVM<\/span> 256-bit was a mistake. In his words, the \u201ccomputer\u201d should have been \u201c64-bit with an arbitrary-size <a href=\"https:\/\/learn.javascript.ru\/bigint#:~:text=BigInt%20%E2%80%93%20%D1%8D%D1%82%D0%BE%20%D1%81%D0%BF%D0%B5%D1%86%D0%B8%D0%B0%D0%BB%D1%8C%D0%BD%D1%8B%D0%B9%20%D1%87%D0%B8%D1%81%D0%BB%D0%BE%D0%B2%D0%BE%D0%BC%D0%BE%D0%B3%D0%BE%20%D0%B0%D1%80%D0%B3%D1%83%D0%BC%D0%B5%D0%BD%D1%82%D0%B0.\" class=\"external\">BigInt<\/a> of arbitrary size,\u201d because such a system would have run faster.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Making it 256 bit was bad; it should have been 64 bit with an arbitrary-size bigint feature. I also hope they won\u2019t abandon the $5 billion per year PoW issuance, and instead put this duty in a <a href=\"https:\/\/u1f987.com\/en\/news\/what-is-the-proof-of-work-pow-algorithm\">Proof-of-Stake<\/a> that would fund goals for the public good.
