This is reported by<a href=\"https:\/\/www.theregister.com\/2021\/08\/26\/facebook_fined_by_south_korea\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\"> The Register<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>According to the agency, between April 2018 and September 2019 Facebook created 200,000 facial recognition templates.<\/p>\n<p>The commission also imposed a fine of 26 million won ($22,000) for illegally collecting social security numbers, failing to notify changes in personal information management, and other violations.<\/p>\n<p>PIPC ordered the social network to delete information about individuals collected without their consent, and prohibited processing identification numbers without a legal basis.
