This was reported in the <a href=\"https:\/\/t.me\/moscowcourts\/571\">Telegram channel<\/a> of the Moscow city courts of general jurisdiction.<\/p>\n<p>On August 17, the company was ordered to pay 14 million rubles for the same charges.<\/p>\n<p>In May, Roskomnadzor <a href=\"https:\/\/u1f987.com\/en\/news\/roskomnadzor-threatens-to-throttle-traffic-to-google-and-youtube\">threatened to slow down traffic to Google&#8217;s services<\/a> due to insufficient content filtering.<\/p>\n<p>In August, the court also <a href=\"https:\/\/u1f987.com\/en\/news\/moscow-court-fines-google-3-million-rubles-for-failing-to-localise-russians-data\">for the first time fined Google<\/a> for refusing to localize Russians&#8217; data.<\/p>\n<p>As reported in April, fines for refusing to delete content prohibited in Russia have been imposed on nearly all major social networks, including <a href=\"https:\/\/u1f987.com\/en\/news\/russian-court-fines-twitter-again-this-time-19-million-rubles\">Twitter<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/u1f987.com\/en\/news\/russian-court-fines-tiktok-2-6-million-rubles-in-the-wake-of-twitter\">TikTok<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/u1f987.com\/en\/news\/millions-of-rubles-in-fines-for-social-networks-russian-hackers-attack-on-the-united-states-and-other-cybersecurity-developments\">Facebook<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/u1f987.com\/en\/news\/vkontakte-and-telegram-fined-for-failing-to-delete-prohibited-information\">VKontakte<\/a> and the messaging app Telegram.<\/p>\n<p>From February 1, a law came into force in Russia obliging social networks to identify and block illegal content themselves.
