The Ministry of Internal Affairs for the Republic of Tatarstan has issued a search for the co-founders of the Finiko financial pyramid \u2014 Edward and Marat Sabirov, and Zygmunt Zygmuntovich. This was reported<\/a> by TASS, citing a representative of the agency.<\/p>\n

“In the Finiko case, active efforts are underway to locate the remaining three suspects who are abroad, and to trace the assets,” the ministry said.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Law enforcement is also engaging with major promoters and office staff of the pyramid. Separate decisions will be taken regarding them.<\/p>\n

Earlier, police arrested the founder of Finiko Kirill Doronin<\/a>, who had obtained Turkish citizenship<\/a>. He was remanded in custody until September 28.<\/p>\n

Overall, the Ministry of Internal Affairs in the Republic of Tatarstan has received about 500 statements from affected depositors. Losses range from 100,000 to 10 million rubles.<\/p>\n

As reported, the prosecutor’s office in Tatarstan opened a criminal case in December 2020<\/a> against Finiko staff not identified at the time. They are suspected of illegally attracting no less than 80 million rubles.<\/p>\n

Investigations have also begun in the Kazakh city of Almaty.<\/p>\n

The real damage from the pyramid’s activities, according to independent experts, exceeds $4 billion, and the number of victims is at least 850,000.<\/p>\n

On July 13 Finiko announced a suspension of payments<\/a> and asked clients for documents proving the origin of their funds. Later Doronin said that he had lost access to user accounts<\/a>, and his partners stopped responding.<\/p>\n

In a subsequent video address, the co-founders said that as early as the beginning of July they transferred all the pyramid’s depositors’ funds to Doronin at his request, when he was allegedly captured in Turkey.<\/p>\n
