The remaining downloads were primarily on Windows personal computers. The iOS and macOS apps are used by just over 12,500 people.<\/p>\n<p>The Axie Infinity client is free to download, but to start playing one must assemble a team of three creatures that are sold as NFTs. The prices vary widely: the cheapest <a href=\"https:\/\/marketplace.axieinfinity.com\/?__cf_chl_managed_tk__=pmd_6f4929b9605b077c7bb9448e0b1793105f4512b0-1628411075-0-gqNtZGzNAuKjcnBszQii\">\u043f\u0440\u043e\u0434\u0430\u044e\u0442\u0441\u044f<\/a> for $200-$300, with higher-priced ones fetching tens of thousands of dollars (the most expensive Axie was sold for $131 000).<\/p>\n<p>The company stressed that Axies are still owned by fewer than 1 million people.<\/p>\n<p>Players can earn in-game tokens called Smooth Love Potion (SLP). They can be used to create new Axies or exchanged for fiat currency. According to CoinGecko, SLP trades near $0.18.<\/p>\n<p>Players earn tokens by completing daily tasks and defeating other players. The maximum earnings are 200 SLP per day or 6000 SLP per month (~$1,089 at the rate at the time of writing).<\/p>\n<p>The play-to-earn concept attracted players from countries with relatively low wages (the Philippines, Brazil, Venezuela, Argentina). The pressure became particularly evident after July 11, when the project\u2019s audience expanded to 500,000.<\/p>\n<p>Larsen noted that the team is working on scaling the project. In particular, they have hired new specialists.<\/p>\n<p>As reported in May, Sky Mavis <a href=\"https:\/\/u1f987.com\/en\/news\/mark-cuban-backs-axie-infinity-nft-game-in-funding-round\">attracted $7.5 million in funding as part of a Series A round<\/a>.
