After his appointment Brooks <a href=\"https:\/\/u1f987.com\/en\/news\/brian-brooks-announces-fivefold-expansion-of-binance-us-workforce\">announced<\/a> expansion of the staff fivefold in a year and a half.<\/p>\n<p>Earlier he served as chief legal officer at Coinbase. In the summer of 2020, Donald Trump appointed Brooks as head of the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency (OCC) within the U.S. Treasury. On January 14, 2021 he <a href=\"https:\/\/u1f987.com\/en\/news\/brian-brooks-resigns-as-head-of-the-occ-blake-paulson-to-become-acting-comptroller-of-the-currency\">resigned<\/a> from that post.<\/p>\n<p>Founder Binance Changpeng Zhao praised Brooks&#8217;s work.
