It was led by Bessemer Venture Partners and Pantera Capital.<\/p>\n<p>The round also included participation from Uncork Capital, Draper Dragon Digital Assets, 9Yards Capital, Coinbase Ventures, Sony Music Entertainment, and others.<\/p>\n<p>The funds will be used to expand the team, attract new artists, and accelerate international expansion.<\/p>\n<p>The platform was founded in 2018 by former Pinterest employees Danny Chu and Yash Nelapati, along with ecommerce executive Rema Ito.<\/p>\n<p>According to the company, sales volume on MakersPlace exceeded $100 million in the last year.<\/p>\n<p>Earlier in July, the NFT marketplace OpenSea <a href=\"https:\/\/u1f987.com\/en\/news\/nft-marketplace-opensea-raises-100-million-at-a-1-5-billion-valuation\">raised $100 million<\/a> at a $1.5 billion valuation.<\/p>\n<p>Earlier, the venture fund of the Bitcoin exchange Coinbase <a href=\"https:\/\/u1f987.com\/en\/news\/nft-game-developer-animoca-brands-raises-50-million-from-coinbase-ventures-and-other-investors\">backed<\/a> Animoca Brands, the NFT game developer, in a funding round of $50 million.<\/p>\n<p>Follow ForkLog&#8217;s bitcoin news on our <a href=\"\/\/telegram.me\/forklog\" target=\"\u201c_blank\u201d\" rel=\"\u201cnofollow\u201d noopener\">Telegram<\/a> \u2014 cryptocurrency news, prices and analysis.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The NFT marketplace MakersPlace closed a Series A funding round of $30 million.
