The firm noted that cryptocurrencies are more volatile than most <span data-descr=\"exchange-traded funds\" class=\"old_tooltip\">ETFs<\/span>, so investing in the trusts is permitted up to 10% of a user&#8217;s total assets.<\/p>\n<p>Wealthfront&#8217;s automated features apply to portfolios containing cryptocurrencies, including \u201csmart dividend reinvestment\u201d and \u201ctax-loss harvesting\u201d (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.investopedia.com\/terms\/t\/taxgainlossharvesting.asp\">tax-loss harvesting<\/a>).<\/p>\n<p>Plans for Wealthfront to open client access to the digital asset market were disclosed in April. At that time, the company&#8217;s co-founder Dan Carroll told <a href=\"https:\/\/www.reuters.com\/technology\/wealthfront-gives-green-light-investment-cryptocurrencies-2021-04-28\/\">Reuters<\/a> that the robo-adviser would set a limit at 20% of the user&#8217;s total portfolio value.<\/p>\n<p>Grayscale Investments manages assets of $34.7 billion. Its largest fund is the Bitcoin Trust, valued at $25.94 billion.
