It became the third financial institution to invest in the company.<\/p>\n<p>In March Fireblocks <a href=\"https:\/\/u1f987.com\/en\/news\/paradigm-and-galaxy-digital-backed-custodian-fireblocks-raises-133-million\">closed a $133 million Series C financing round<\/a> at a valuation of $700 million. It saw participation from Silicon Valley Bank and BNY Mellon. The total funds raised reached $489 million.<\/p>\n<p>In an interview with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.coindesk.com\/crypto-custody-firm-fireblocks-raises-310m-at-2b-valuation\">CoinDesk<\/a>, Fireblocks CEO Mikhail Shaulov noted that the fresh investment would allow it to maintain independence.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>\u00abAgainst the backdrop of the consolidation we have observed in the market in recent months, many clients have grown a little nervous, particularly when it comes to custodial infrastructure. It was important for us to show them that there are enough on-balance-sheet resources and that the valuation is high to preserve independence. This helps bolster trust among existing clients and strengthen partnerships with banks\u00bb, said he.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>According to the press release, the funds will also be deployed to develop the Fireblocks platform and to build an \u201cindustry-standard backend for digital asset infrastructure for traditional financial institutions.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>According to <a href=\"https:\/\/techcrunch.com\/2021\/07\/27\/crypto-infrastructure-provider-fireblocks-raises-310m-triples-valuation-to-2-2b-in-five-months\/\">TechCrunch<\/a>, Fireblocks users include more than 500 institutions \u2014 up from 150 in January 2021. Clients include Binance, BitMEX, Huobi, Kraken and other major players in the sector.<\/p>\n<p>Earlier in 2020 Fireblocks entered the decentralised finance market, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.prnewswire.com\/news-releases\/fireblocks-integrates-with-largest-defi-lending-network-301025465.html\">integrating<\/a> its platform with Compound. In June 2021 the latter, with the assistance of partner <a href=\"https:\/\/u1f987.com\/en\/news\/compound-labs-opens-defi-access-for-institutions\">opened the subsidiary Compound Treasury<\/a>, which provides institutions with access to the space.<\/p>\n<p>Through Fireblocks\u2019 infrastructure, digital assets worth $1 trillion have been moved. It aims to support \u201cthe next generation of digital-asset-focused companies,\u201d including projects in the NFT and tokenised securities space.<\/p>\n<p>Fireblocks operates on a subscription model. Since January its annual recurring revenue (ARR) has grown by 350%. In 2020 the figure grew by 450%.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>\u00abWe expect to finish the year with a 500% growth in revenue.
