Forbes reports this.<\/p>\n<p>Known as the \u201ccrypto mom,\u201d Peirce, during a talk at The B Word conference, stayed true to her stance in favour of adopting Bitcoin ETFs.<\/p>\n<blockquote class='wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow'>\n<p><em>\u201cI never would have thought I would be in a situation where other countries have moved ahead on this issue, and we <em>\u2014<\/em><\/em> <em>not\u201d<\/em>, she said.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Peirce noted that the United States should take a cue from <a href=\"https:\/\/u1f987.com\/en\/news\/canada-registers-bitcoin-etf-ahead-of-the-united-states\">Canada<\/a>, where regulators approved the launch of such instruments as early as February 2021. In March, a similar decision was taken by Brazil&#8217;s Securities and Exchange Commission.<\/p>\n<p>The SEC commissioner also expressed concern that the crypto industry is forced to operate under a separate set of rules that do not apply to other sectors.<\/p>\n<blockquote class='wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow'>\n<p><em>\u201cWe are not a regulator of virtue. We should not decide whether it is good or bad what an investor thinks about this, or shape the temporary perception of a given product. We forget that people build portfolios.\u201d<\/em>, she said.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Earlier in July, Hester Peirce <a href=\"https:\/\/u1f987.com\/en\/news\/sec-commissioner-hester-peirce-says-regulators-bitcoin-etf-requirements-are-excessive\">called<\/a> the regulator&#8217;s Bitcoin ETF requirements excessive.<\/p>\n<p>In July, the SEC postponed consideration of Bitcoin ETF applications from <a href=\"https:\/\/u1f987.com\/en\/news\/sec-delays-skybridge-capitals-bitcoin-etf-application-review\">SkyBridge Capital<\/a>.
