More than 80 DeFi protocols are already operating on this network, due to low fees and faster transaction processing than Ethereum.<\/p>\n<p>According to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theblockcrypto.com\/data\/decentralized-finance\/total-value-locked-tvl\/notional-value-locked-l1s\">The Block<\/a>, the total value locked in Polygon smart contracts (TLV) exceeds $5 billion.
