The company will allocate $300 million in native S tokens for this initiative.<\/p>\n<p>The proposal was submitted to the DAO on August 20 and was supported by 99.99% of participants.<\/p>\n<p>The plan includes the following directions:<\/p>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>$50 million will be allocated to launch an ETF in partnership with a &#8220;top-tier&#8221; provider, with the exchange-traded fund tracking the price of S;<\/li>\n<li>$100 million will be invested in a <span data-descr=\"Private Investment in Public Equity \u2014 a method for a public company to raise capital by privately selling its shares or other securities to institutional investors at a price below the market value\" class=\"old_tooltip\">PIPE<\/span> deal on Nasdaq, creating a reserve for token buybacks on the open market and through over-the-counter transactions. S will be locked for at least three years;<\/li>\n<li>150 million S will be allocated for the development of the American division, Sonic USA.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>For the latter, Sonic Labs will hire local top managers. The team will focus on regulatory compliance and partnerships.<\/p>\n<p>The company explained the initiative as a response to growing institutional demand for S from the U.S.<\/p>\n<p>Simultaneously, Sonic Labs will update the project&#8217;s tokenomics. The model will include burning a portion of gas fees to make the ecosystem more deflationary.<\/p>\n<p>Sonic Labs is engaged in developing the EVM-compatible first-layer blockchain Sonic. The team was previously known as Fantom Foundation.<\/p>\n<p>According to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.coingecko.com\/en\/coins\/sonic\">CoinGecko<\/a>, the market capitalization of S is $989.34 million with the asset priced at $0.3.<\/p>\n<p>Back in May, a Singapore court <a href=\"https:\/\/u1f987.com\/en\/news\/sonic-labs-secures-liquidation-of-multichain-to-recover-funds-after-210-million-hack\">approved<\/a> the liquidation of Multichain Foundation at the request of Sonic Labs to compensate for damages from a cross-chain protocol hack in 2023.
