It was expected to last until 9 July 2021.<\/p>\n<p>In June 2021 the FCA <a href=\"https:\/\/u1f987.com\/en\/news\/uk-extends-temporary-registration-regime-for-cryptoasset-firms\">extended the regime to 31 March 2022<\/a>. The regulator said the initiative would allow crypto-asset companies to continue operating while the regulator conducts a thorough assessment of them.<\/p>\n<p>As of writing, the regulator&#8217;s register <a href=\"https:\/\/register.fca.org.uk\/s\/search?predefined=CA\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">lists<\/a> six approved cryptocurrency firms. Applications from more than 80 firms are under review, and 64 have already <a href=\"https:\/\/u1f987.com\/en\/news\/sixty-four-crypto-firms-withdraw-registration-applications-in-the-uk\">withdrawn<\/a>.
