During testing, developers will assess the networks&#8217; resilience to outages under conditions of heightened on-chain activity.<\/p>\n<p>In addition to updates on the details of the planned <a href=\"https:\/\/u1f987.com\/en\/news\/ethereum-eip-1559-included-in-july-london-hard-fork-despite-miners-opposition\">London hard fork<\/a>, Beiko said work is underway on code to merge ETH1 and ETH2 on the latter&#8217;s side. He promised that specifications for the first version of the protocol would appear soon.<\/p>\n<p>Beiko also reported on work related to <a href=\"https:\/\/eips.ethereum.org\/EIPS\/eip-3074\">EIP-3074<\/a> (an audit was conducted) and <a href=\"https:\/\/eips.ethereum.org\/EIPS\/eip-3540\">EIP-3540<\/a> (a roadmap has been developed). These proposals are candidates for activation as part of the next <a href=\"https:\/\/github.com\/ethereum\/pm\/issues\/329\">Shanghai hard fork<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Earlier, developers identified <a href=\"https:\/\/u1f987.com\/en\/news\/ethereum-developers-uncover-vulnerability-in-eip-1559\">a vulnerability in the EIP-1559 proposal<\/a>, which could have led to network congestion.<\/p>\n<p>The controversial EIP-1559 won backing from developers and users, but <a href=\"https:\/\/u1f987.com\/en\/news\/ethereum-miners-split-into-two-camps-over-eip-1559\">divided miners into two camps<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Opponents of the proposal, including jointly <a href=\"https:\/\/etherchain.org\/miner\">\u043a\u043e\u043d\u0442\u0440\u043e\u043b\u0438\u0440\u0443\u044e\u0449\u0438\u0435<\/a> 44.8% of the network&#8217;s hash rate, the SparkPool and Ethermine pools, aimed to concentrate in the latter <a href=\"https:\/\/u1f987.com\/en\/news\/ethereum-miners-to-stage-protest-against-eip-1559\">more than 51% of the computing power<\/a>.
