The founder of Wimm-Bill-Dann, private investor David Yakobashvili, said he had received 72% of the invested funds in the blockchain project Telegram Open Network (TON). This was reported by reports<\/a> Forbes.<\/p>\n

\u201c[Pavel Durov] returned the money as we agreed. Or I should have left the money for a year and would have received 110%, but I received 72%, as agreed,\u201d Yakobashvili told the publication.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

The billionaire stressed that he supports the Telegram team and regards them as victims of political pressure from the United States.<\/p>\n

\u201cI have a very good relationship with the guys; it\u2019s not their fault. I still regard them as victims of a certain political pressure. Americans are people too and sometimes make mistakes,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

According to available information, David Yakobashvili invested $50 million in Durov’s platform.<\/p>\n

In February and March 2018, during two rounds of a closed ICO, TON raised $1.7 billion from 175 investors in the US and abroad.<\/p>\n

In April 2020, Pavel Durov notified TON investors that there would be no launch due to a dispute with [simple_tooltip content=\u2019\u041a\u043e\u043c\u0438\u0441\u0441\u0438\u044f \u043f\u043e \u0446\u0435\u043d\u043d\u044b\u043c \u0431\u0443\u043c\u0430\u0433\u0430\u043c \u0438 \u0431\u0438\u0440\u0436\u0430\u043c \u0421\u0428\u0410\u2019]SEC[\/simple_tooltip] and a ban on distributing Gram tokens. He promised non-American investors that, after a year, they would receive 110% of the original investments, while those who did not agree to that option would receive 72% immediately.<\/p>\n

In April 2021, the media reported that some TON investors have already received the funds<\/a>, and another portion \u2014 notices about the start of payments.<\/p>\n

In May, 50 investors from Disruptive Era Fund, managed by Da Vinci Capital, filed a lawsuit against companies<\/a> linked to the TON blockchain platform. Collectively they invested $72.1 million in the project.<\/p>\n
