About this <a href=\"https:\/\/edps.europa.eu\/press-publications\/press-news\/press-releases\/2021\/edpb-edps-call-ban-use-ai-automated-recognition_en\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">\u0433\u043e\u0432\u043e\u0440\u0438\u0442\u0441\u044f<\/a> in a joint statement by the European Data Protection Board and the European Data Protection Supervisor.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>\u201cThe deployment of remote biometric identification in public spaces signals the end of anonymity. Technologies such as real-time facial recognition infringe fundamental rights and freedoms to such an extent that they call into question their very essence,\u201d the statement says.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Regulators recommend banning AI systems that classify people by ethnicity, gender, political opinions or other personal characteristics to avoid potential discrimination.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>\u201cThe proposed regulation should also ban any use of artificial intelligence for assessing social scores, as this runs counter to the EU\u2019s fundamental values,\u201d they added.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Authors of the open letter also consider the use of AI for emotion recognition to be highly undesirable and should be banned with some exceptions. Regulators suggested that this technology might be permissible, for example, in the medical field to determine a patient\u2019s condition.<\/p>\n<p>They added that a full ban on facial recognition in public places would be a starting point for preserving freedom and creating a human-centered legal framework for AI.<\/p>\n<p>In April, the European Commission<a href=\"https:\/\/u1f987.com\/en\/news\/calls-to-ban-clearview-ai-a-robot-that-thinks-aloud-and-other-ai-news\"> presented a draft on the use of AI<\/a> in the EU.
