Later media clarified that <a href=\"https:\/\/u1f987.com\/en\/news\/chinese-media-bitcoin-trading-is-not-banned-but-safeguards-for-ordinary-investors-are-needed\">Bitcoin trading is not prohibited<\/a>, but requires protection of ordinary people&#8217;s interests.<\/p>\n<p>On May 25, the Inner Mongolia Reform and Development Commission <a href=\"https:\/\/u1f987.com\/en\/news\/measures-to-curb-illegal-mining-in-inner-mongolia-unveiled\">presented<\/a> a list of measures to combat illegal mining concerning various organisations operating in the autonomous region.<\/p>\n<p>On the backdrop of tightening regulation:<\/p>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Bitcoin exchanges Huobi and OKEx <a href=\"https:\/\/u1f987.com\/en\/news\/huobi-and-okex-curtail-services-for-chinese-residents\">reduced the scope of services<\/a> for Chinese residents;<\/li>\n<li>the trading platform Bybit <a href=\"https:\/\/u1f987.com\/en\/news\/bybit-to-restrict-chinese-ip-addresses\">announced restrictions<\/a> for users from the PRC;<\/li>\n<li>the local social network Weibo <a href=\"https:\/\/u1f987.com\/en\/news\/weibo-blocks-cryptocurrency-bloggers-accounts\">blocked<\/a> accounts of cryptocurrency bloggers;<\/li>\n<li>the ASIC equipment maker Bitmain <a href=\"https:\/\/u1f987.com\/en\/news\/media-bitmain-cuts-antminer-prices-amid-chinese-mining-criticism\">cut the price of Antminer devices<\/a> by 20%.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>On June 10, authorities in Qinghai Province <a href=\"https:\/\/u1f987.com\/en\/news\/authorities-in-chinas-qinghai-province-order-miners-to-halt-operations\">ordered miners to halt operations<\/a>. Local regulators will begin monitoring.<\/p>\n<p>On June 11, media reported that authorities in Yunnan Province <a href=\"https:\/\/u1f987.com\/en\/news\/yunnan-authorities-to-ban-cryptocurrency-mining-reports-say\">planned to ban cryptocurrency mining<\/a>.
