In Tatarstan, one applicant for a public office disclosed that he holds digital assets. This, reports<\/a> RBC.<\/p>\n

The candidate is vying for a post in the treasury department within the republican finance ministry. The selection process for the post has not yet concluded.<\/p>\n

So far, no cryptocurrency holders have been identified among officials and lawmakers.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe have not received such notices regarding individuals occupying municipal or state positions,\u201d said Salavat Rakhimov, chief advisor to the head of RT’s anti-corruption policy department.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

As a reminder, the six-month deadline by which Russian officials and applicants for relevant state service positions must first report on their digital financial assets and rights, including digital currencies, owned by them, their spouses, and minor children, expires on June 30.<\/p>\n

The decree on this was signed<\/a> by President Vladimir Putin on 10 December 2020.<\/p>\n

In January the Russian Ministry of Labour obliged a portion of officials to divest from cryptocurrency holdings<\/a>.<\/p>\n
