He called the leading cryptocurrency \u201cdigital gold in a large technology network.\u201d<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>\u201cMicroStrategy is the first company to conduct a Dutch auction or to buy back shares to acquire bitcoin. We were the first <a href=\"https:\/\/u1f987.com\/en\/news\/microstrategy-raises-650-million-for-bitcoin-purchase\">to offer<\/a> convertible debt for acquiring cryptocurrency. Last week we became the first firm, <a href=\"https:\/\/u1f987.com\/en\/news\/microstrategy-raises-500-million-to-buy-bitcoin\">to propose<\/a> a senior secured debt for this purpose,\u201d said Saylor.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>According to him, buying bitcoin increased MicroStrategy\u2019s brand strength by a hundredfold; the previous quarter was the best for the core business in the last decade \u2014 software sales rose by 10%.<\/p>\n<p>Even if the company\u2019s shares are perceived as an analogue to an <span data-descr=\"exchange-traded fund\" class=\"old_tooltip\">ETF<\/span> based on digital gold, Saylor argues that the firm\u2019s stock has undeniable advantages. First, MicroStrategy can translate cash flow from software sales into cryptocurrency. Second, it has the ability to raise debt financing.<\/p>\n<p>Regarding bitcoin maximalism and possible diversification of investments into virtual currencies, Saylor stated:<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>\u201cBitcoin is the largest and most dominant network of digital property. Think of it as huge blocks in cyberspace\u2019s Manhattan. Then you have digital currencies such as Tether and stablecoins. They will be akin to CBDC dollars. You also have digital applications, such as Ethereum.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>He added that \u201cEthereum aims to dematerialize JPMorgan&#8217;s buildings, banking institutions and all exchanges.\u201d<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>\u201cAll of these things have a place if you understand them correctly,\u201d concluded Saylor.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>However, he suggested that in the near term MicroStrategy will not take steps to buy Ethereum or any other crypto assets.<\/p>\n<p>According to Bitcoin Treasuries the firm owns 92,079 BTC, which at the time of writing is valued at nearly $3.7 billion.<\/p>\n<p>The company <a href=\"https:\/\/u1f987.com\/en\/news\/microstrategy-to-raise-up-to-1-billion-via-stock-offering-to-fund-bitcoin-purchases\">announced plans<\/a> for additional share issuance of up to $1 billion.
