This is according to <a href=\\\"https:\/\/forkast.news\/china-yunnan-to-ban-cryptocurrency-mining-source\/\\\">Forkast News<\/a>, citing a notice provided by the BTC.TOP pool.<\/p>\n<p>According to the publication, the company plans to accelerate moving operations to North America and focus on Sichuan Province because of the abundance of hydroelectric resources.<\/p>\n<p>Earlier, Bitcoin miners at the Shandong Economic and Technological Development Park, based in Changji Prefecture (Xinjiang), received an order from local authorities <a href=\"https:\/\/u1f987.com\/en\/news\/xinjiang-residents-of-one-of-the-largest-mining-hubs-ordered-to-halt-operations\">about the immediate cessation of activities<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/u1f987.com\/en\/news\/inner-mongolia-authorities-launch-crackdown-on-illegal-cryptocurrency-mining\">Inner Mongolia<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/u1f987.com\/en\/news\/authorities-in-chinas-qinghai-province-order-miners-to-halt-operations\">Qinghai<\/a>, and Sichuan joined the effort against mining of the first cryptocurrency. The Sichuan authorities <a href=\"https:\/\/u1f987.com\/en\/news\/media-miners-in-sichuan-will-be-allowed-to-operate-until-september\">allowed<\/a> miners to prepare to cease operations by September 2021.<\/p>\n<p>Provincial officials also <a href=\"https:\/\/u1f987.com\/en\/news\/media-sichuan-to-assess-impact-of-bitcoin-mining-ban-on-the-energy-sector\">held a seminar<\/a> on the use of surplus hydropower under the ban. Media reported that the meeting with local miners <a href=\"https:\/\/u1f987.com\/en\/news\/sichuan-authorities-meet-local-miners-in-a-positive-mood\">took place in a cordial atmosphere<\/a>, but without adopting any resolutions.<\/p>\n<p>On May 18, journalist Colin Wu reported that three associations under the People&#8217;s Bank of China issued a joint notice <a href=\"https:\/\/u1f987.com\/en\/news\/media-china-bans-support-for-cryptocurrency-related-business\">banning companies from engaging in cryptocurrency-related business<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>On May 21, Vice Premier Liu He, during a speech at a meeting of the Financial Stability and Development Committee, stated plans <a href=\"https:\/\/u1f987.com\/en\/news\/bitcoin-falls-below-37000-on-news-of-chinas-mining-ban\">to take measures regarding digital asset mining and Bitcoin trading<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>On May 24, Xinhua News Agency <a href=\"https:\/\/u1f987.com\/en\/news\/china-criticises-bitcoin-and-mining-market-falls\">released<\/a> a piece criticizing digital gold and cryptocurrency mining.
