The decision was issued under the framework of compliance with anti-money laundering laws.<\/p>\n<p>According to the local prosecutor&#8217;s office, since the beginning of 2021 they have filed five lawsuits seeking the blocking of prohibited information.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>&#8220;The legislation views the exchange of virtual currencies as potential involvement in carrying out dubious operations and transactions,&#8221; the agency said.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>The list of sites that attracted the prosecutor&#8217;s attention is not provided. It is known that one of the suits concerns a YouTube video describing methods of exchanging Bitcoin for rubles.<\/p>\n<p>The court granted the claim. After the decision enters into force, access to this information will be blocked.<\/p>\n<p>As a reminder, Russian courts have repeatedly placed sites on the list of banned resources for disseminating information about the possibility of buying Bitcoin and paying for certain goods with it.<\/p>\n<p>Since 2017 Roskomnadzor has filed several lawsuits seeking inclusion in the register of cryptocurrency exchange aggregators Bestchange.ru. The last time the blockade <a href=\"https:\/\/u1f987.com\/en\/news\/bestchange-bitcoin-exchange-aggregator-removed-from-russias-register-of-banned-websites\">lifted December 22, 2020<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>In early December of the same year, a court in Arkhangelsk <a href=\"https:\/\/u1f987.com\/en\/news\/court-orders-blocking-of-bestchange-mirror-over-information-about-counterfeit-bank-of-russia-banknotes\">ordered to block the service&#8217;s mirror<\/a> Bestchange.net for information about counterfeit money.<\/p>\n<p>From January 1, 2021 a law &#8220;On Digital Financial Assets&#8221; took effect in the Russian Federation.
