The head of the new company will be Usman Ahmad, BC Group&#8217;s chief information officer. The chief operating officer has been appointed as Nick Filpott from the bank&#8217;s venture arm, SC Ventures.<\/p>\n<p>\\n\\n\\n<\/p>\n<p>BC Group is the parent company of the Hong Kong trading platform OSL, whose technology the partners will use to launch the European Bitcoin exchange.<\/p>\n<p>\\n\\n\\n<\/p>\n<p>Back in December 2020, SC Ventures and the financial services provider Northern Trust <a href=\"https:\/\/u1f987.com\/en\/news\/standard-chartered-sets-out-timeline-for-crypto-custody-launch\">announced the launch of an institutional cryptocurrency custody solution<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>\\n\\n\\n<\/p>\n<p>The Zodia Custody service will commence operations in 2021 after registration with the United Kingdom&#8217;s Financial Conduct Authority (FCA). In the initial phase it will support Bitcoin and Ethereum.
