Galaxy Digital founder Mike Novogratz, entrepreneur and author Gary Vaynerchuk, and Fanatics CEO Michael Rubin announced the creation of Candy Digital. The company will promote sports-themed NFTs, The Block<\/a> reports.<\/p>\n

The first partner in creating non-fungible tokens will be the North American Major League Baseball (MLB)<\/a>.<\/p>\n

On July 4, an NFT of baseball player Lou Gehrig’s farewell speech, “The Luckiest Man”, delivered 82 years ago, will be auctioned.<\/p>\n

Candy Digital and MLB will pay homage to the famed athlete who ended his professional career after being diagnosed with ALS<\/a>. He died two years later.<\/p>\n

Earlier, the collectible maker Topps launched<\/a> the first official series of Major League Baseball cards as non-fungible tokens.<\/p>\n
