One of them is the widespread adoption of a new financial product or a little-studied technology,&#8221; he explained.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>\\n\\n<\/p>\n<p>He said that in 2008, such products were mortgage-backed securities. During the dot-com bubble, they were tech companies that really didn\u2019t amount to much.<\/p>\n<p>\\n\\n<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\\\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\\\">\n<p>&#8220;As soon as the public embraced this new financial product, it collapsed, and that was a huge problem,&#8221; the mortgage-backed securities expert said.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>\\n\\n<\/p>\n<p>He also described cryptocurrencies as &#8216;a licence for the private sector to print money&#8217; and noted that they do not have <a href=\"https:\/\/u1f987.com\/en\/news\/bank-of-england-governor-warns-of-risk-of-losing-funds-when-buying-bitcoin\">intrinsic value<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>\\n\\n<\/p>\n<p>According to the Federal Reserve, the total amount of liquid U.S. dollars in circulation has risen four-and-a-half times over the past year. At the same time, the capitalization of the cryptocurrency market <a href=\\\"https:\/\/www.tradingview.com\/markets\/cryptocurrencies\/global-charts\/\\\" target=\\\"_blank\\\" rel=\\\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\\\">has risen<\/a> more than tenfold.<\/p>\n<p>\\n\\n<\/p>\n<figure class=\\\"wp-block-image\\\"><img decoding=\\\"async\\\" src=\\\"https:\/\/lh6.googleusercontent.com\/0gXvp6ftVXqmIrFsxlVjJCE9NWIXykCeHXGvtUAhIQdjaOS7I6Yn0r94RF6wNbl-Ez4oynVxDMTjXCQJHOLWQOhY2kDtswj1YbtBTL-ZCuc0ZzzVH7UPTREMYV5xoNVxN6Jr3lwN\\\" alt=\\\"Expert said cryptocurrencies could cause the next financial crisis\\\"\/><figcaption>U.S. M1 money stock. In his view, the maximum supply of 21 million BTC does not make the asset scarce or valuable. He stressed that there are other cryptocurrencies that are cheaper but have a better technological base.<\/p>\n<p>\\n\\n<\/p>\n<p>Earlier, JPMorgan Chase &#038; Co. suggested that a correction in the crypto market could push institutional investors toward panicked selling of Bitcoin and into gold.<\/p>\n<p>\\n\\n<\/p>\n<p>Societe Generale also favours the precious metal.
