The results come from the Alba Heaven recruitment agency, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.koreatimes.co.kr\/www\/biz\/2021\/05\/175_309361.html?tw\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">The Korea Times<\/a> reports.<\/p>\n<p>The survey was conducted from May 17 to 19 among 1,750 college students.<\/p>\n<p>One in four who decided to become a crypto investor was attracted by the prospect of investing relatively small sums.<\/p>\n<p>The positive sentiment toward digital assets was driven by high expected returns (33%), low barriers to entry (31%), and the lure of rising social status (15%).<\/p>\n<p>On average, respondents invested 1.41 million won (~$1,260): 15.7% used money from their parents, 10% from a savings account.<\/p>\n<p>40.5% of respondents earned a profit from their investments, averaging 1.67 million won (~$1,490). One in three also reported losses of 740,000 won ($660).<\/p>\n<p>The average investment horizon was 3.7 months \u2014 many turned to cryptocurrencies during the run-up to record highs in April.<\/p>\n<p>68.3% of young investors experienced psychological problems. A third reported mood swings and emotional highs and lows due to sharp price volatility.
