This requires creating a &#8216;proper&#8217; regulatory framework to maintain the country&#8217;s competitive edge and protect consumers, Bragg said.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>&#8220;People are using [digital assets], and we need to conduct thorough analysis to determine what policy Australia should pursue if we want to be a technology and financial hub,&#8221; the senator said.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Bragg chairs a special committee investigating cryptocurrencies. According to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.smh.com.au\/business\/banking-and-finance\/bitcoin-regulation-to-be-probed-by-senate-inquiry-20210519-p57t77.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">The Sydney Morning Herald<\/a>, citing a group document, experts will study regulatory approaches in the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, and the European Union.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>&#8220;The committee will assess options for developing a comprehensive regulatory framework for cryptocurrencies and digital assets. We want to know what policy measures and legal certainty are necessary to stimulate private investment in Australian digital assets,&#8221; the document states.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>In November 2020, former Australian politician and leader of the conservatives Cory Bernardi <a href=\"https:\/\/u1f987.com\/en\/news\/australian-ex-senator-calls-bitcoin-gold-for-millennials\">described Bitcoin as &#8216;gold for <\/a><a href=\"https:\/\/u1f987.com\/en\/news\/australian-ex-senator-calls-bitcoin-gold-for-millennials\">millennials<\/a><a href=\"https:\/\/u1f987.com\/en\/news\/australian-ex-senator-calls-bitcoin-gold-for-millennials\">&#8216;<\/a>.
