The team added that the head of Tesla shared advice and connections.<\/p>\n<p>Together with Musk, the Dogecoin developers plan to make the cryptocurrency a cheaper and greener alternative to Bitcoin.<\/p>\n<p>Nicoll also said that the team declined funding from the Tesla chief and other offers from wealthy investors.<\/p>\n<p>On May 14, Musk wrote on Twitter that he is &#8216;working with the DOGE developers to improve the efficiency of system-level transactions&#8217;. After that the cryptocurrency briefly <a href=\"https:\/\/u1f987.com\/en\/news\/dogecoin-returns-to-top-five-by-market-cap-as-musk-tweet-and-coinbase-listing-loom\">rejoined the top-five by market capitalization<\/a>. The asset&#8217;s rise was also aided by Coinbase&#8217;s listing announcement on the Bitcoin exchange.<\/p>\n<p>Earlier, Musk invited users to vote, <a href=\"https:\/\/u1f987.com\/en\/news\/elon-musk-weighs-up-selling-tesla-for-dogecoin\">whether Tesla should accept payments in Dogecoin<\/a>. More than 78% of those polled supported the idea.<\/p>\n<p>The head of SpaceX also said that the company <a href=\"https:\/\/u1f987.com\/en\/news\/spacex-to-launch-doge-1-satellite-to-the-moon-mission-paid-for-in-dogecoin\">will send the Doge-1 satellite to the Moon<\/a>. According to Musk, the mission is fully funded by the meme cryptocurrency.<\/p>\n<p>On March 1, the Dogecoin developers <a href=\"https:\/\/u1f987.com\/en\/news\/dogecoin-developers-update-client-software-for-the-first-time-in-a-year-and-a-half\">updated the client software<\/a> for the first time in a year and a half. The cryptocurrency received &#8216;important performance improvements&#8217;.<\/p>\n<p>Billionaire Mark Cuban <a href=\"https:\/\/u1f987.com\/en\/news\/mark-cuban-dogecoin-could-hit-1-and-become-something-like-a-stablecoin\">predicted Dogecoin&#8217;s price to reach $1<\/a>.
