The facilities, previously owned by GPU.one, use capacity from a local hydroelectric plant.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">New RNS:<\/p>\n<p>Argo Blockchain is pleased to announce that, further to the share purchase agreement with <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/FJcbg4fZYH\">https:\/\/t.co\/FJcbg4fZYH<\/a> announced on 3 February 2021, it has completed the acquisition of the two data centres in Quebec, Canada. <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/hashtag\/ARB?src=hash&#038;ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">#ARB<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/search?q=%24ARBKF&#038;src=ctag&#038;ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">$ARBKF<\/a><\/p>\n<p>1\/<\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Argo (@ArgoBlockchain) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/ArgoBlockchain\/status\/1392721345612591107?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">May 13, 2021<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p> <script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p>According to the press release, the aggregate capacity of the data centres is 20 MW. A \u201csignificant portion\u201d of Argo Blockchain&#8217;s equipment is already housed there.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>\u201cWe aim to better control our mining operations and the costs associated with them, as well as lay the groundwork for long-term growth,\u201d said Peter Wall, the company\u2019s CEO.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>GPU.one ceased operations. The company owned two facilities\u2014 in New Brunswick and Quebec. The first, in February 2021, along with its core team <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/HiveBlockchain\/status\/1364935497936752641?s=20\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">\u043f\u0435\u0440\u0435\u0448\u0435\u043b<\/a> under the control of HIVE Blockchain Technologies.<\/p>\n<p>Argo Blockchain also joined the Crypto Climate Accord initiative to decarbonise the mining industry.
