Investor and star of the television show Shark Tank, Kevin O\u2019Leary, said in a CNBC comment that Ethereum “will always be number two” after Bitcoin.<\/p>\n

\u201cBitcoin will always be gold, and Ethereum\u2014silver,\u201d Mr O\u2019Leary said.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

He said the second-largest cryptocurrency would be used as a ‘system for tracking and making payments’. However, the price of Ethereum is currently too high for that purpose, the investor added.<\/p>\n

On May 1, the second-largest cryptocurrency by market capitalization reached an all-time high<\/a> at $2870. Digital gold is trading below $60,000.<\/p>\n

Earlier in March, O\u2019Leary said he planned to allocate 3% of his assets to Bitcoin<\/a>. He added that he was considering investments in miners and the development of “carbon-free coins”.<\/p>\n

In early April, the TV star pledged to buy only eco-friendly digital gold<\/a>.<\/p>\n
