{"id":41652,"date":"2021-04-30T10:05:41","date_gmt":"2021-04-30T07:05:41","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/?p=41652"},"modified":"2025-08-30T19:41:19","modified_gmt":"2025-08-30T16:41:19","slug":"uzbekistan-proposes-allowing-residents-to-buy-cryptocurrencies-on-exchanges","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/u1f987.com\/en\/uzbekistan-proposes-allowing-residents-to-buy-cryptocurrencies-on-exchanges\/","title":{"rendered":"Uzbekistan proposes allowing residents to buy cryptocurrencies on exchanges"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The National Agency for Project Management under the President of Uzbekistan (NAPU) proposed allowing residents of the country to buy cryptocurrencies on exchanges.<\/p>\n<p>In the draft document shown for discussion <a href=\\\"https:\/\/regulation.gov.uz\/ru\/d\/44561\\\" target=\\\"_blank\\\" rel=\\\"noreferrer noopener\\\">draft document<\/a> proposes to grant citizens the ability to conduct \u201call forms of crypto exchange trading of crypto assets and tokens for national and foreign currencies\u201d on exchanges.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\\\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\\\">\n<p>\u201cThe selection of crypto assets as the object of acquisition, and the consequences of that choice, are the buyer&#8217;s own risk,\u201d the document states.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>The draft regulatory act also authorizes exchanges that have obtained a license to issue tokens, NAPU noted in a statement to ForkLog.<\/p>\n<p>Residents of Uzbekistan can currently sell cryptocurrencies and tokens through licensed exchanges, but not buy them.<\/p>\n<p>The ban was attributed by NAPU to the population&#8217;s low financial literacy.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\\\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\\\">\n<p>\u201cMuch has changed since 2019. Citizens already have an understanding of crypto assets and how to use them,\u201d ForkLog told NAPU.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>In early 2020, Uzbekistan launched its first licensed cryptocurrency exchange, Uznex.
