The central bank head also acknowledged that he does not have verifiable figures to back this up.<\/p>\n<p>\\n\\n<\/p>\n<p>According to Kavc\u0131o\u011flu, the regulator&#8217;s recent <a href=\"https:\/\/u1f987.com\/en\/news\/turkish-central-bank-bans-cryptocurrency-payments\">decision<\/a> to bar payment systems from dealing with virtual currencies was necessary to restore state control over the sector.<\/p>\n<p>\\n\\n<\/p>\n<p>Earlier, Turkish crypto exchange Thodex <a href=\"https:\/\/u1f987.com\/en\/news\/turkish-bitcoin-exchange-suspected-of-exit-scam\">was suspected of an exit scam<\/a> after an abrupt halt to trading.
