The philosopher and author of the cult work The Black Swan, Nassim Taleb, in an interview with CNBC again criticized the first cryptocurrency. According to him, Bitcoin is a Ponzi scheme.<\/p>\n
\n\u201cThere is no connection between inflation and Bitcoin. If you want to hedge against inflation, buy land,\u201d Taleb said.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n
He believes that the best strategy for investors is to own things that can generate income in the future.<\/p>\n
\n\u201cDon\u2019t mess with Bitcoin. Buy stable stocks and assets you understand,\u201d the philosopher added.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n
Earlier, Taleb repeatedly supported Bitcoin and criticized the traditional financial system. In February 2019 he gave a lecture in Moscow, where he described the main task of the first cryptocurrency as scaring bankers.<\/p>\n
In the summer of 2020, Taleb called the overwhelming majority of Bitcoin maximalists \u201ccomplete idiots\u201d, and in February 2021 \u2014 “am\u0153bas”<\/a>.<\/p>\n
Earlier in February, the philosopher also said he sold his bitcoins and that digital gold “did not establish itself as a means of payment”<\/a> due to high volatility.<\/p>\n
