Most residents of the Russian Federation do not believe that digital currencies will completely replace traditional payment methods, such as cash or card payments, within ten years, though they expect their partial adoption. This is indicated by ForkLog’s survey results conducted for Otkritie Bank.<\/p>\n
According to the survey, only 14% of residents believe that digital currencies \u2014 including cryptocurrencies and the digital ruble \u2014 will be used for all payments in ten years. 46% of Russians think they will be used for some transactions.<\/p>\n
34% of respondents said that digital currencies will not replace traditional ones. 6% of those polled do not know what they are.<\/p>\n
A majority of Russians (67%) believe that many banks will still provide traditional financial services in ten years.<\/p>\n
81% of respondents believe that cash will still exist in ten years \u2014 with 42% of Russians thinking it should not be withdrawn from circulation, as people should have a choice.<\/p>\n
The survey was conducted among 1,000 residents of the Russian Federation aged 18\u201365 in cities with populations over 100,000.<\/p>\n
As reported by the Center for Financial Technologies and Digital Economy SKOLKOVO-RESH, half of Russians are ready to use the Central Bank’s digital ruble<\/a>, while 22% are strongly opposed.<\/p>\n
