A criminal group defrauded a 43-year-old resident of Kazan of 970,000 rubles, posing as cryptocurrency trading and deposit-insurance services.<\/p>\n
In late March, the woman submitted an application on a site that purported to offer cryptocurrency trading services.<\/p>\n
After speaking with a “broker,” she deposited 260,000 rubles into an account.<\/p>\n
Later, a “customer-support staffer” called the victim and urged her to insure her invested funds for about 710,000 rubles. The attackers did not contact her again.<\/p>\n
Police have opened a criminal case into fraud and are trying to identify the suspects.<\/p>\n
