The matter is described in <a href=\\\"http:\/\/www.miamidade.gov\/govaction\/legistarfiles\/Matters\/Y2021\/210817.pdf\\\" target=\\\"_blank\\\" rel=\\\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\\\">a letter<\/a>, published on the local government&#8217;s website.<\/p>\n<p>According to the document, Bitcoin, Ethereum, and Litecoin are being considered as payment methods.<\/p>\n<p>In February 2021, Miami Mayor Francis Suarez spoke about the possibility <a href=\"https:\/\/u1f987.com\/en\/news\/miami-mayor-aims-to-allow-salaries-to-be-paid-in-bitcoin\">of paying government employees&#8217; salaries<\/a> in the first cryptocurrency. City authorities <a href=\"https:\/\/u1f987.com\/en\/news\/miami-authorities-to-study-integrating-bitcoin-into-the-citys-financial-system\">voted<\/a> to study options for integrating Bitcoin into the municipal infrastructure.<\/p>\n<p>Earlier, Suarez spoke of a desire <a href=\"https:\/\/u1f987.com\/en\/news\/miami-mayor-seeks-to-make-city-a-bitcoin-mining-hub\">to create a Bitcoin mining center in the city<\/a>.
