Their average purchase price stands at $24,311.<\/p>\n<p>In August 2020, MicroStrategy became the first public company to convert part of its equity <a href=\"https:\/\/u1f987.com\/en\/news\/microstrategy-becomes-the-first-nasdaq-listed-company-to-invest-part-of-its-capital-in-bitcoin\">worth $250 million<\/a> into Bitcoin, the first cryptocurrency. Later, the board approved a policy to increase <a href=\"https:\/\/u1f987.com\/en\/news\/microstrategy-bets-another-175-million-on-bitcoin\">investments in Bitcoin<\/a> from cash reserves.<\/p>\n<p>In December, MicroStrategy secured <a href=\"https:\/\/u1f987.com\/en\/news\/microstrategy-invests-another-650-million-in-bitcoin\">debt financing<\/a> to purchase cryptocurrency. The company issued <a href=\"https:\/\/u1f987.com\/en\/news\/microstrategy-raises-650-million-for-bitcoin-purchase\">for $650 million<\/a> convertible bonds.<\/p>\n<p>In February 2021, the software provider conducted a new debt offering <a href=\"https:\/\/u1f987.com\/en\/news\/microstrategy-raises-more-than-1-billion-in-debt-financing-to-buy-bitcoin\">for more than $1 billion<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/u1f987.com\/en\/news\/microstrategy-buys-more-bitcoin-for-1-026-billion\">again invested<\/a> the proceeds in Bitcoin.<\/p>\n<p>In March, MicroStrategy <a href=\"https:\/\/u1f987.com\/en\/news\/microstrategy-buys-additional-bitcoin-for-15-million\">bought 262 BTC<\/a> for about $15 million and <a href=\"https:\/\/u1f987.com\/en\/news\/microstrategy-buys-another-205-btc-at-a-price-below-50000\">approximately 205 BTC<\/a> for about $10 million.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Nasdaq-listed software analytics provider MicroStrategy purchased about 253 BTC for $15 million.
