This is stated in the regulator&#8217;s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.boj.or.jp\/en\/announcements\/release_2021\/rel210405b.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">statement<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>At this stage, the central bank will develop a testing environment for the CBDC and run experiments with its core functions.
