{"id":4006,"date":"2017-06-02T13:40:20","date_gmt":"2017-06-02T10:40:20","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/forklog.media\/?p=4006"},"modified":"2017-06-06T11:36:33","modified_gmt":"2017-06-06T08:36:33","slug":"russian-central-bank-wants-to-spearhead-the-blockchain-revolution","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/u1f987.com\/en\/russian-central-bank-wants-to-spearhead-the-blockchain-revolution\/","title":{"rendered":"Russian Central Bank Wants to Spearhead the Blockchain Revolution"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Blockchain will see mass adoption in seven to ten years at least, Deputy Chairwoman of Russian Central Bank Olga Skorobogatova believes.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>Speaking at panel discussion Blockchain: the Birth of a New Economy at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum, she also conceded that the regulator is once again considering creation of a national cryptocurrency.<\/p>\n<p>Answering the panel moderator\u2019s question as to should the regulator return to the concept of so-called <a href=\"http:\/\/forklog.media\/tag\/bitruble\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Bitruble<\/a>, Olga Skorobogatova said:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><strong>\u201cWe\u2019ll sure end up with a virtual national currency, and we\u2019ve already started working on that. In fact, all regulators have concluded that they should make a virtual national currency. This is the future. It&#8217;s just a question of time.\u201d<\/strong><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>According to her, Russia is known for its \u2018great national feature\u2019 that she described as \u201cwe are slow starters, but we drive fast.\u201d She believes it\u2019s totally applicable to the situation with blockchain.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><strong>\u201cIn the financial area and state entities we\u2019re spending a lot of time on discussions, harmonization of activities and some subtle issues like some legal issues.
