This donation will aid in the mission of both organizations to preserve humanity\u2019s most valuable data and improve access to information. <a href=\\\"https:\/\/t.co\/UQW9H6L5Uq\\\">https:\/\/t.co\/UQW9H6L5Uq<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Filecoin Foundation (@FilFoundation) <a href=\\\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/FilFoundation\/status\/1377714490440085507?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\\\">April 1, 2021<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><script async src=\\\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\\\" charset=\\\"utf-8\\\"><\/script>\n<\/div>\n<\/figure>\n<p>As of writing, the token\u2019s value is estimated at $10.15 million, according to <a href=\\\"https:\/\/www.coingecko.com\/en\/coins\/filecoin\\\" target=\\\"_blank\\\" rel=\\\"noreferrer noopener\\\">CoinGecko<\/a>.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\\\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\\\">\n<p><em>&#8220;We expect that new technologies such as Filecoin will revolutionize data storage and decentralize it,&#8221;<\/em> said in an interview with <a href=\\\"https:\/\/www.theblockcrypto.com\/post\/100169\/filecoin-foundation-internet-archive-donation\\\">The Block<\/a>, the project\u2019s founder Bruyster Kael.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>According to Marta Belcher, chief counsel at Protocol Labs, which is developing Filecoin, the Internet Archive site uses the tokens to build distributed web technologies that will be distinguished by their speed.<\/p>\n<p>Kael noted that the Internet Archive aims to smooth the transition from the Internet to a new decentralized network. Since 2015 the organization has run a series of seminars for this purpose. That is equivalent to 11,250 copies of Wikipedia or 47 copies of Internet Archive.
