Bloomberg reports, citing informed sources.<\/span> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bloomberg.com\/news\/articles\/2021-03-12\/crypto-exchange-binance-investigated-by-u-s-over-who-s-trading\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Bloomberg<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The exchange&#8217;s native token slumped almost 10% on the news, according to<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.coingecko.com\/en\/coins\/binance-coin\"> <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">CoinGecko<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. The price of Bitcoin fell 2.5% within 30 minutes, testing the $55,000 mark.<\/span><\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0<\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cThe bull market does not go without FUD. He was tasked with maintaining liaison between the company, U.S. regulators, and authorities.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In October 2020, <a href=\"https:\/\/u1f987.com\/en\/news\/forbes-binance-profits-from-us-investors-brushing-off-regulator-suspicions\">the Forbes article described Binance developing a <a href=\"https:\/\/u1f987.com\/en\/news\/forbes-binance-profits-from-us-investors-brushing-off-regulator-suspicions\">strategy for deliberately deceiving regulators<\/a> and extracting hidden profits from U.S. customers.<\/span><\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p><i>\u201cThe statements and accusations in the article are untrue. Binance has always acted within the law. This is evidenced by numerous regulated exchanges operating in many jurisdictions.\u201d<\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, \u2014 wrote Zhao at the time.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In November the company filed <a href=\"https:\/\/u1f987.com\/en\/news\/binance-sues-forbes-over-defamatory-statements\">a defamation suit<\/a> against the publication, but in February it <a href=\"https:\/\/u1f987.com\/en\/news\/binance-withdraws-defamation-suit-against-forbes\">was withdrawn<\/a>.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Also in November, Binance required <a href=\"https:\/\/u1f987.com\/en\/news\/binance-gives-us-users-14-days-to-withdraw-funds\">US customers to leave the platform<\/a> within 14 days. Previously, for trading on the platform, American clients could indicate at registration that they were not residents of the country.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Earlier, ForkLog reported that Binance-affiliated companies are registered in both the Cayman Islands and the Seychelles.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In October 2020, <a href=\"https:\/\/u1f987.com\/en\/news\/cftc-sues-bitmex-and-its-founders\">the CFTC filed a lawsuit against BitMEX<\/a> and its owners.
