Positive price action was helped by <a href=\"https:\/\/u1f987.com\/en\/news\/cme-launches-ethereum-futures\">the launch of futures trading<\/a> on the Chicago Mercantile Exchange (CME).<\/p>\n<p>Nevertheless, the month ended with Ethereum up only 8%. One reason for the correction was rising transaction fees, which reduced activity in the DeFi sector and decreased demand for cryptocurrency used to pay gas. Initially, an undisputed contender for this spot was the Binance Coin token. Its price hit a new high of $368 as Ethereum became congested and BSC gained popularity. By the end of February the asset had risen 374%.<\/p>\n<p>By month-end Binance Coin displaced the still-promising Cardano. ADA price reached an all-time high near $1.48. During February the cryptocurrency rose 295%.
