According to the startup&#8217;s blog, <a href=\"https:\/\/blog.staked.us\/blog\/eth2-post-mortem\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">the blog<\/a> reports this.<\/p>\n<p>Validators subjected to slashing also lose the ability to earn rewards.<\/p>\n<p>Such sanctions are applied in situations that potentially threaten the network&#8217;s operation. They serve as a safeguard against malicious user actions. This was meant to increase the startup&#8217;s clients&#8217; revenue.<\/p>\n<p>To this end, over the past six weeks the service has rolled out a number of improvements. The testnet did not reveal any errors; however, when moving to real-world conditions, Staked validators began to reboot frequently. Data: <a href=\"https:\/\/beaconcha.in\/validators\/slashings\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Beaconcha.in<\/a>.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>Since the launch <a href=\"https:\/\/u1f987.com\/en\/news\/ethereum-2-0-phase-zero-launch\">Phase 0 of ETH2<\/a> in December 2020, the number of slashed validators has reached 114.<\/p>\n<p>Staked has implemented all necessary changes to prevent a recurrence of such situations in the future. Affected clients will be compensated for the ETH they lost and the ETH they would have earned.<\/p>\n<p>In the past, the first Ethereum 2.0 validator <a href=\"https:\/\/u1f987.com\/en\/news\/first-validator-slashed-in-the-ethereum-2-0-network\">was fined<\/a> the very next day after the launch of Phase 0.<\/p>\n<p>Earlier, Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin <a href=\"https:\/\/u1f987.com\/en\/news\/vitalik-buterin-outlines-the-advantages-of-ethereum-2-0-validators\">said<\/a> that in the early months of the protocol&#8217;s operation, penalties would not exceed a quarter of the stake on the Medalla testnet.<\/p>\n<p>Follow ForkLog on <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/ForkLog\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener noreferrer\">Twitter<\/a>!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>During the night of February 2\u20133, 75 Ethereum 2.0 validators supported by the Staked service lost part of the ETH they had staked.
