{"id":35821,"date":"2021-02-03T21:26:29","date_gmt":"2021-02-03T19:26:29","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/?p=35821"},"modified":"2025-08-29T03:09:25","modified_gmt":"2025-08-29T00:09:25","slug":"visa-to-test-solution-to-integrate-bitcoin-payments-with-banks","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/u1f987.com\/en\/visa-to-test-solution-to-integrate-bitcoin-payments-with-banks\/","title":{"rendered":"Visa to test solution to integrate bitcoin payments with banks"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The payments company Visa <a href=\\\"https:\/\/www.businesswire.com\/news\/home\/20210203005124\/en\/\\\" target=\\\"_blank\\\" rel=\\\"noopener noreferrer\\\">announced<\/a> the testing of a set of application programming interfaces (APIs) that will allow customers of traditional banks to buy and sell digital assets, such as Bitcoin.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>\\n<\/p>\n<p>The first participant in the Visa Crypto API pilot program was digital bank First Boulevard, aimed at the African American community in the United States.<\/p>\n<p>\\n<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>&#8220;Developing crypto APIs marks the next milestone in Visa&#8217;s digital currency strategy, aimed at expanding the company&#8217;s role as a network of networks,&#8221; the press release said.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>\\n<\/p>\n<p>According to Product Director Jack Forestella, the company decided to make the payments system &#8220;a bridge between digital currencies and its global network of 70 million merchants.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>\\n<\/p>\n<p>The pilot is expected to launch later this year.<\/p>\n<p>\\n<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>&#8220;During the initial testing and training phase, Visa will study how financial institutions that do not have their own digital currency infrastructure can use the company&#8217;s platform to access the growing world of crypto assets and blockchain networks,&#8221; the payments giant said.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>\\n<\/p>\n<p>Visa plans to connect First Boulevard to Anchorage&#8217;s digital asset custodian infrastructure \u2014 the company&#8217;s partner which recently <a href=\"https:\/\/u1f987.com\/en\/news\/anchorage-becomes-the-first-federally-chartered-digital-asset-bank-in-the-united-states\">received a national bank license<\/a> from the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency (OCC) as part of the U.S. Treasury.<\/p>\n<p>\\n<\/p>\n<p>First Boulevard will also issue a Visa debit card with access to digital assets.
