The decision was influenced by the <a href=\"https:\/\/u1f987.com\/en\/news\/sec-files-suit-against-ripple\">lawsuit<\/a> by the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) against Ripple dated December 23.<!--more--><\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-lang=\"en\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"en\">Earlier today we announced that we\u2019ve commenced the dissolution of our <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/search?q=%24XRP&#038;src=ctag&#038;ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">$XRP<\/a> Trust.<\/p>\n<p>More information in our press release here: <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/vHO8qQRcqJ\">https:\/\/t.co\/vHO8qQRcqJ<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Grayscale (@Grayscale) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/Grayscale\/status\/1349462819075448833?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">January 13, 2021<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><br \/>\nThe company said that following the lawsuit, market participants announced the delisting of XRP from major digital-asset trading platforms.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>\u201cIt will be harder for American investors to convert XRP into US dollars, which will complicate the trust\u2019s operations,\u201d Grayscale Investments said.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>The company plans to distribute the proceeds from the XRP sale among investors.
