In their view, the token is not a security, and its value is based on its use in payments.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>&#8220;We have not personally witnessed any improper market conduct by Ripple Labs or its leadership,&#8221; Gatehub said.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>In December 2020 the SEC <a href=\"https:\/\/u1f987.com\/en\/news\/sec-files-suit-against-ripple\">filed a lawsuit<\/a> against Ripple, CEO Brad Garlinghouse and co-founder Chris Larsen. The agency contends that over seven years the company sold unregistered securities in the form of tokens and raised $1.3 billion over that period.<\/p>\n<p>Earlier, exchanges Bitstamp, Binance US, Galaxy Digital and Jump Trading halted XRP trading.
